In male and female with God we see the Image of the God!

Psalter reading Psalm 8:1-9

“1 ¶ «To the Chief Musician. On the instrument of Gath. A Psalm of David.» O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! 2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger. 3 ¶ When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? 5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, 7 All sheep and oxen—Even the beasts of the field, 8 The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas. 9 O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!” (Psalm 8:1-9 NKJV)

“24 ¶ Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind"; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 26 ¶ Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." 29 ¶ And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 "Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food"; and it was so. 31 ¶ Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” (Genesis 1:24-31 NKJV)

“In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!”

The Trinity is one of those things so simple that they are complex beyond human understanding.  Without the Holy Spirit to us 1=3 seems to be foolish and ignorant, just like the cross and resurrection! For God’s ways seem foolish!

How can 1=3?  God uses the creation of Man as an example of the Imago Deo or image of God.  But how can this be since the male and the female are just 2?  Here we see the mystery of God because Man is not a male or even just a male and a female.  For Man to be in the Image of God we must be a male and a female joined with God! So 1=3!

This mystery of God is so marvelous we can hardly believe it!  The proof of our disbelief is in Psalm 8:5 which is often translated that Man is a little lower than Angels.  But that was purposely mistranslated from Man is a little lower than God!   For our place in God is too marvelous to imagine!!!
