Looking
back
It seems I am almost up to date with
what we have gone through but there are a couple of things I do want to say to
complete the looking back part.
1.
I
tried to put things in order but as I read over I realize that I was not
successful in doing that. While I
apologize for any confusion it is an expression of what we have gone through.
2.
I
wish I could express my gratitude and my appreciation to all of my family but
especially Bonnie and Becca. Not just
for their excellent work as caregivers but also for the pain this is causing
them. They have had to watch my
suffering and my decline. I pray daily
for them in all they face.
3.
Finally,
it has been harder than I thought to leave the pastoral ministry behind. I had hoped I would get a bounce up after not
working but that didn’t happen. But I do
appreciate the concern and support we have experienced from First United
Methodist Church and Asbury United Methodist Church. First is letting us stay in their parsonage
and Asbury offered us theirs to move into temporarily. God’s people are such a blessing.
Thursday
May 25
The day began with hurting eyes and
pain. The usual routine is that the
morning is better and after lunch it quickly gets worse until I wait for 9PM to
go to bed. But today because of the
Lumbar Puncture and not getting to sleep until late it started off bad and went
to worse. If I sit up for long I still
get a headache and my back hurts where they took the spinal fluid out.
My Bible reading completed the Old
Testament and I have already read Matthew.
I still spend time in prayer throughout the day and that is a great
time.
Bonnie, Becca and I spent some time
together watching Cranford. We have been
spending a lot of time in the world of Jane Austen and others like her. It has been a time to spend together after
supper and we have really enjoyed it.
We see God’s blessings each day.
