Psalm of the Good Shepherd Part
9
“22 ¶ I will proclaim your name to my
brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people. 23 Praise the LORD, all you who fear
him! Honor him, all you descendants of Jacob!
Show him reverence, all you descendants of Israel! 24 For he has not ignored or belittled
the suffering of the needy. He has not
turned his back on them, but has listened to their cries for help. 25 I will praise you in the great
assembly. I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who worship you.”(Psalm
22:22-25 NLT)
We asked in the
last lesson about the “Lord” answering the prayer of Jesus. You could say God didn’t answer His prayer,
but here we see the celebration of all who believe in God because the “Lord”
did not relieve the suffering of Jesus.
By not saving Jesus
the “Lord” brought salvation to His people as He heard “their cries for help”.
In response to
God’s work in Jesus His people respond with praise and worship.
Find the meaning of the words God’s people used to express their
response to Jesus.
Proclaim
Praise
Honor
Reverence
Fulfill my vows
Worship
What does it means that most of the response seems to be as a
group or assembly?
