Once again murder has been committed
on a mass scale and once again we see the battle of we need fewer guns or we
need our guns to protect ourselves. It
has become almost a religious litany.
And that is why I feel called to say something.
I believe (and I want to make that clear)
that the problem is not guns or the people who use them, but that the Church in
America either refuses to do their job or do not care. Recently in our area a young man called for
1,000 congregations to come together to pray for the opiod epidemic and only about
2,000 people came. When there have been
previous shootings there was little increase in the few that come to prayer
meetings.
Are we trusting in the power of government
to fix heart issues or to keep people from doing bad things? Shouldn’t we call out to God to change those
who would kill others? Shouldn’t we ask
God to protect those at risk? Not just
in America but around the world.
Realize God hears every angry
scream from those who kill and the screams of the victims. God counts every tear and knows every
pain. Have you thought about God’s
tears? That God cries for them but also
for a Church that either doesn’t care or who no longer believe God can make a
difference.
May we bring a smile to God’s
heart as we in faith believe He can change hearts through His love and
salvation so that more can live in God’s love!
