THE UPSIDE
DOWN WORLD OF THEOLOGY
By Ronald

INTRODUCTION
“18 For
the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us
who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." 20 Where is the wise? Where is
the scribe? Where is the
disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God,
the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the
foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks
seek after wisdom; 23 but we
preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks
foolishness, 24 but to those who
are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of
God. 25 Because the foolishness
of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”
(1Corinthians 1:18-25 NKJV)
Over the years of studying the
Bible I have discovered that the world we live in every day is upside down to
the Bible. We, who not only live in the
world, but are still touched by it often find the teaching of the Word
confusing and even foolish.
Each chapter of this book is a theological
“statement” which on its face may seem humorous, or even ridiculous, but which
I hope will help you see the Gospel and the world as God does.
That last statement may seem
egotistical on my part. But I can only
show you what God has revealed to me over my years as a Christian and as a
minister. I can offer you no more than
that and wouldn’t offer you less.
True theology (which just means the
study of God) must not only be easy to understand while being complicated, but
must also be able to be lived out. For
we do not just know Jesus Christ, we must live in Him! I pray that each chapter will help you understand
God better, and help you live out the Gospel.
