22Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— 23therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.  Genesis 3:22-24 NKJV

            So many see this as part of the curse and miss the expression of God’s love.  Remember that we had eaten of the Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil and therefore in our sin we starting dying until we die.  We started the process of slowly dying and getting older and weaker until we die.

            If we had eaten of the Tree of Life we would never die yet get older and weaker and be susceptible to diseases.  Could you imagine if we just got older, weaker and more infirm forever!  Earth would be so full of nursing homes and care facilities everyone would have to take care of those suffering but never be able to be healed and have a new life by death!

            God saved us from this horror by keeping us from the Tree of Life!  Such a love to cast those you love from you to save them!  Rejoice in the Love of God which saves us even from ourselves!

            Sarah and Live returned to Springfield. Illinois safely and we give thanks to God!  We had such a good time together.

            But this left me very weary so I spent the rest of the day resting and recovering.
