December
23, 2017 Saturday Week 3 Day 7
From that time Jesus began to proclaim, “Repent, for the
kingdom of heaven has come near.” Matthew 4:17
The word for sin is an archery term
which means to miss the mark and repent means to turn around 180 degrees. Jesus calls us to turn away from missing the
mark and turn to the love and grace of God as we are forgiven.
As we turn from our sin we also turn
from the kingdom of satan and turn toward the Kingdom of God. The kingdom of satan is the kingdom of evil
and hell while the Kingdom of God is the kingdom of a relationship with God and
Heaven.
Jesus tells us that Kingdom of
Heaven “has come near”! The
Kingdom of Heaven is where Jesus reigns in our heart and we seek to live under
His rule. As Jesus reigns within us and
we live our lives the Kingdom of God comes near to all those we come in contact
with.
Jesus in our life brings the Kingdom
of God not only into our lives but into the world around us. We bring the Light of God into the darkness
of the world. We bring God’s hope into a
world of despair.
Christmas reunites Heaven and earth
in the celebration of Creation and the Re-creation of the earth as Jesus
redeems not only humanity but all of Creation!
Merry Christmas!!!
