December 24, 2017 Sunday Christmas Eve

76  “ And you, my little son, will be called the prophet of the Most High, because you will prepare the way for the Lord. 77   You will tell his people how to find salvation through forgiveness of their sins. 78   Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, 79   to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.” 80   John grew up and became strong in spirit. And he lived in the wilderness until he began his public ministry to Israel. Luke 1:76-20

The birth of Jesus is the culmination of God’s preparation since before His Creation.  Before “the foundations” were laid Jesus had already offered Himself for us!

This may be hard for us to understand but God is not limited by time and so all of time is NOW to God!  In truth what seems to us as pre-paration is really God working outside of time bringing together the Creation and then Redemption of His Creation.

John is part of a long line of people God used to prepare for Christmas which is God coming into Creation to redeem all of Creation.  Jesus comes to Redeem and Recreate Heaven and earth!

The beginning of Matthew seems boring to many and we just either not read it or read it quickly without stop.  But realize this list is a reminder that for thousands of years God built faithful generations who passed on the promise of Redemption until the Savior was born from their seed!

Christmas is a reminder that your foundations have been prepared by God long before you were born and before you could have the love of God revealed to you!

Join all of Creation and hold your breath as we await Christmas as Jesus wraps Himself in human flesh to reveal God’s love for us and to bring hope and Redemption into a broken Creation and into our lives!
