January 6, 2018 Saturday

Then the Jews demanded of him, "What miraculous sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?" Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days." The Jews replied, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?" But the temple he had spoken of was his body. After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.” (John 2:18-22 NIV)

Have you ever asked for a sign from God?  Sometimes we want to KNOW God is not only there but is able to help us when we need.  So many in the Bible were given sign and wonders so why doesn’t God show us a sign that can help us?

When they asked Jesus for a sign the reply was interesting, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days."  We are given the meaning of this sign but do you think you would have understood the sign when Jesus gave it?  Or like the Jews would you totally misunderstand the sign and believe Jesus refused to give a sign?

Even the disciples missed the sign and only after Jesus was raised from the dead did the sign make sense!  At times only after all has taken place can we either see or understand the sign God has shown us!

All the time God gives us signs of what He is doing in our lives and in our world.  If you ever have had a need, a person or a place come to mind that is a sign God is calling you to pray and to discover how God wants to you minister.  Even the sound of a siren is God reminding you to pray for those going to help and those they are going to help.

Open your eyes, ears and even heart to see the signs of God calling you to serve others, bring glory to Him and make God smile!
