“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who
are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is
written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the
understanding of the prudent.”” (1Corinthians 1:18-19 NKJV)
Human “wisdom” is so fun to
watch. Over time the egg was a cheap
mainstay for many. Then science said
that eggs were bad for the heart and that people should either not eat them or
at least reduce the number of eggs they eat.
This devastated those who produced eggs.
Then science said that coffee was
bad for you and should not be drunk or to use the decaffeinated. Then coffee was healthy for you and many specialty
coffee places sprouted up. Now we are
back to coffee having too much caffeine which affects the heart and makes it
harder to sleep.
These are just a couple of things
that remind us that choosing science to guide your life is like shooting
craps. (By the shooting craps has now
become a scientific study involving high math.)
If we guide our life by science we indeed experience that God has
destroyed the wisdom of the wise.
For over 150 years evolution has
been taught as fact. First we were told
millions of years, than billons and now we are heading for trillions. Why this increase in time? Because they have discovered that the
evolving process takes longer than they thought and so time must increase.
Did you know that while evolution is
possible where a species finds itself in a changing situation or environment
they do evolve to be able to survive?
But there has not been a change from one “kind” (as the Bible says) to
another despite the many claims of science.
There have been many fraudulent
claims that have been debunked but books and even museums still show them as
being authentic. In their effort to
become wiser than God they have revealed not only foolishness but a pride that
will not accept when they are proved wrong!
The “foolishness” of God has over
and over stood the test of science even when scientists have attacked the
Bible. Many of the early scientists were
not only Christians but used to Bible as a source of their discoveries.
In the Psalms it talks about the
paths in the sea and a Christian charted those paths and they are used even
today because they shorten trips and save on fuel costs. One of the inventors of the MRI machine was a
Christian and when the awards for the discovery were presented he was not given
and award or even mentioned!
God is the founder of all wisdom and
is the Creator of all things. As
creations let us honor the God who not only created us but loves us!
Monday was a day of
recovering. The pain from the cellulites
came back and that makes it hard to walk.
I stayed in bed most of the day to hopefully help. It was a great day of prayer as once again I travelled
the world. It seems lately we have spent
a lot of time in South America and Turkey.
God never tells me what is happening but guides me in what to pray. God continues to use me and make even this
time a blessing! Reaching out to God and
to others helps me to be overcome by the pain and weariness.
