“16 Your fierce wrath has gone over me; Your terrors have cut me off. 17 They came around me all day long like water; They engulfed me altogether. 18 Loved one and friend You have put far from me, And my acquaintances into darkness.” (Psalm 88:16-18 NKJV)

     Heman screams from the depth of his soul that God is destroying him. Look at his words:

Your fierce wrath has gone over me

Your terrors have cut me off

They came around me all day long like water

They engulfed me altogether

Loved one and friend You have put far from me

And my acquaintances into darkness

     Heman offers a terrible picture of all God has taken away and also of who God is. What can you say to someone like Heman? What can you say to God?
