“Jesus
said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I
AM.”” (John 8:58 NKJV)
Often
people would get very angry when Jesus would proclaim Himself as “I
AM.” Jesus
could have said
I was but using I AM is a reminder of when Moses asked God’s name
to take to enslaved people of Israel.
“And
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you
shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’””
(Exodus 3:14 NKJV)
I
AM is the name God gave to Moses and Jesus would repeatedly refer to
Himself as I AM which is a declaration He is God!
I
AM is an amazing name for God as it indicates an eternal presence in
the present. God created time and is not bound by time so all of
time is now to God!
