Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.” (Psalm 100:2 NKJV)
Looking at this single verse from Psalm 100 gives us a chance have a deeper look at two ways we are called to live out the Christian life.
We are called to serve the Lord. For many centuries those who served their earthly lords did so out of fear or a hope to eek out a living. At any time they could be called to war without ant protection or provision for their families. Women were treated in horrific ways and the man had no recourse.
We are called to come into our Lord’s “presence with singing.” To serve the Heavenly Lord we serve the Lord who served us and was willing to give His life for us! Coming into the presence of our Heavenly Lord we can come singing songs of thanksgiving and praise!
