There is a story of a missionary who was called of God to share the gospel with a tribe of cannibals everyone feared. Despite the arguments of others he went and found them receptive. There was part of their belief that a white man would come to shown them the true God.

The missionary led the entire village to Christ and they were all baptized. He stayed a long time disciplining them.

After a long time the missionary was talking to the chief and exclaimed about all God had done. With tears in his eyes the chief lamented they had not come in time for his father to have heard and believed.
