Grace like a leaf draws life

life flowing from branches

which comes from the vine

Jesus said we are branches

and He is the life giving vine

through love leaves grow

If we do not share God’s life

we begin to dry up and die

life does not flow to the leaf

the leaf begins to whither

the green of life dies in it

the leaf withers and curls in

But God is gracious and good

dying the leaf is a color palate

part of God’s working art

The leaf dances to the ground

which awaits it for reclamation

to nourish branches with leaves 8/7/2021
